The Denise Billen-Mejia Commentaries
In this episode, I talk with my old hypnosis tutor, Ilah Brock, a certified hypnotherapist in Visalia, the Central Valley of California (between Sacramento and Los Angeles). Ilah works with clients in person as well as globally via Zoom. We discuss the topic of limiting beliefs and how they can affect people without them even realizing it. Ilah describes limiting beliefs as beliefs that individuals wish they did not have, such as feeling “stupid”, “worthless”, or “not enough”. We discuss how identifying and collapsing these limiting beliefs can lead to positive changes.
We touch on the issue of anxiety and how underlying limiting beliefs can contribute to it. Ilah mentions that helping clients identify the root causes of anxiety can lead to relief and has a domino effect on other related issues. The conversation delves into the effectiveness of hypnosis in resolving various concerns, and emphasizes the importance of using hypnosis alongside other medical professionals.
Ilah’s background as a sign language interpreter and her work with the deaf community led her first to law school and then a sharp turn to hypnosis as hypnosis is about communication. .
Overall, we hope the conversation sheds a little light on the benefits of hypnotherapy in addressing limiting beliefs, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. Ilah can be reached at ilahb@centralvalleyhypnotherapy.com
