We’re all fascinated by the extreme wealth of Jeff Bezos/Elon Musk. But it’s terrible for society. The rich/poor divide is growing. Some people are richer than small countries, whilst millions of productive, working people struggle to get by. At its heart, capitalism is about rewarding hard work and innovation. However, globalisation and monopoly power have helped a minority to dominate. This isn’t healthy. Employee ownership helps redress the balance in a sensible way. Chris Maslin sold his own successful business to an employee ownership trust in 2021. He now runs Go EO, helping other companies do the same.
