New shoes have the promise of run faster, jump higher and being cool, aka (we bad).
And then the realization sets in. Stinky, uncool and just not fun anymore.
Alas, this is becoming the fate of Social Media Sites. Through the sea of advertising, self-promoting and loathing of life, you can find cute, funny, wholesome stories, might take you an hour or two. Ah, Social Media Sites are the good, the bad, and the ugly of todays dwindling once barefoot society. Choose a shoe for YOU.
Social Media Sites (SMS) have grown to encompass a variety of tastes and needs to fulfill our needs wants and desires. But holy macaroni they are becoming a wasteland of self-aggrandizement and loathing, with heaps of advertising spooned out to loose weight, gain money or fix that rising problem. We still find the cute, the wholesome the entertaining stories squeezed between the fatty buildup that is the buttons of (Subscribe -Subscribe, Like Me –Follow Me, Hey Baby wanna see my pet Aardvark Naked) On and on. You can find original content that is good, but then it is copied and copied and copied. You get the picture. I believe SMS are important form of communication and entertainment. Kinda like shoes when they stink, you still put them on.

I am one that is extremely happy we did not have social media sites when I was growing up. The weird the wacky the wonderful things we did must never be mentioned, or spoken of again. You could go to a party and embellish ones activities to a great extent, to that one girl who might actually be listening, but now your right in the middle of a good story and someone starts to FACT check what your saying. Well one man’s Facts are another mans preliminary courtship sparring moves.
We need to consume wisely and digest slowly.
Oh, and don’t forget, when you post your life on Social Media Sites, your digital legacy is at risk by the SMS gods on your future existence. A great book to read from Tamar Kneese called “Death Glitch” dives into the digital future of your digital legacy.
So use your stinky shoes with care and don’t forget to go barefoot, once in awhile.
