Cybersecurity Risks Businesses Are Exposed To
· Ransomware And Malware viruses – one of the most significant business risks
· Phishing. Business email and phishing compromise is prominent method of cybercrime against your business.
· Third-Party data Exposure – releasing your confidential business data
· EndPoint and IoT hijacking – turning your device into an attack bot
· Crypto-Jacking – Steeling your computer resources to mine cryptocurrency
Companies need to do more to protect their business assets; but where do you start?
If you want to be effective with cybersecurity for your company, you first need to know your risks and what you’re trying to protect. You need to identify your risks (what can go wrong), likelihood of that happening, consequences if it happens, and what you are willing to accept (or how much you are willing to pay to mitigate the risk). You can be perfectly safe by being a hermit and not connected to the Internet – of course you may then have no business or customers. Cybersecurity and resilience are a balancing act between protecting what’s most important to your company, at a cost you can afford, while minimizing the hassle. To do that you need to understand your cybersecurity posture.

Companies are not doing enough to protect themselves from ransomware and hacking threats. It is time for companies to get serious about cyber security!
Huge security breaches like Colonial Pipeline get the big headlines, but many small to medium size businesses are also getting hacked.
The reason? A company’s own employees unwittingly open the door to hackers!
Human errors and accidental losses lead to many data breaches, which can be especially fatal to small and medium size businesses.
They click items without thinking first, they release dangerous malware that has rightly been set into the spam folder, and they are lured by “phishing” attacks.
It is vital that businesses provide core tools and regular cyber training and emphasize the importance of comprehensive security to employees.
